Inspired by the Japanese aesthetic of mono no aware – “the pathos of things” – where beauty is appreciated through the bittersweet quality of transience, Lucid is an exploration of the romantic melancholy that broken glass can possess. 

As reclaimed glass shards are encased in a three-dimensional blob of resin, a prismatic and scintillated effect is created when light permeates through, extending its usual association with fragility and damage to one of an elusive and pristine quality.
